One main focus in our lab is on comparative genomics of gene families in various eukaryotes. Over the years, we published analyses of just one family in one genome to multiple families in multiple genomes. Our findings provide not only the history of gene family evolution but also the clues why differential family expansion occurred. With the cost of sequencing becomes cheaper and cheaper, the number of genome sequencing project will likely increase exponentially. This is an exciting time for studying genome evolution. Here is a list of genomes that we analyzed or plan to analyze in the near future.
